Stuttgart, Germany and Nantes, France – 15 June, 2023 – P3 digital services, leading provider of In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems, and MyScript, the global market leader in handwriting recognition and digital ink management, announce their new partnership, introducing AI-driven touch-based handwriting to the SPARQ platform. The collaboration brings this intuitive, keyboard-free input to Android Automotive OS for the first time.
MyScript and P3 have pre-integrated their technologies to create an enhanced version of AAOS that incorporates MyScript’s world-leading handwriting recognition technology. Users now have the option to write with a finger on the SPARQ-enabled IVI screen – MyScript’s technology recognizes even the untidiest scrawl with unmatched accuracy, allowing users to issue system commands or even write SMS messages without taking their eyes off the road.
Thanks to MyScript’s powerful AI, the system offers predictive text functionality: it learns the user’s handwriting style (whether cursive or block letters, orderly or messy), deciphers the input and helps to complete the communication.
This intuitive communication method helps the driver stay focused on the road as opposed to searching for letters on a keyboard. In doing so, it makes the IVI system more usable and versatile, and contributes to safer driving.
MyScript already operates in over 22.5 million vehicles worldwide, with that metric set to grow via its Android Automotive debut on the rapidly expanding SPARQ platform.
