France, Oct. 08 2021 – P3 partners with Renault to develop one of the world’s first connected infotainment systems powered by Google’s Android Automotive OS.
Since 2019 P3 proudly collaborates with Renault Software Factory to deliver one of the world’s first vehicles with a connected infotainment system powered by Android Automotive OS.
Renault recently revealed the system with the all-new Megane E-TECH 100% Electric at the 2021 IAA in Munich, receiving rave reviews from the press and industry alike for its intuitive, fast, and aesthetic HMI. The vehicle will launch in the first quarter of 2022 with a customized human-machine interface (HMI) and Google apps and services.
These include optimized Google Maps and Google Assistant and numerous offers in Google’s app ecosystem via its Play Store. A growing number of third-party apps will be available over time through adaptation to meet Google’s in-car guidelines.
Today’s users expect the intuitive and exciting experience of their smartphones to integrate seamlessly to their cars’ infotainment system. When entering the vehicle, they want to keep using their personal application eco-system effortlessly. Responding to this demand has become possible thanks to Google’s Android Automotive OS. It allows Renault to build a high-end infotainment system that will stay up-to-date for its user’s thanks to regular over-the-air updates.
Successful delivery of this high-end Android Automotive OS system in a short time to market was possible thanks to various key factors: a strong partnership approach, a scaled agile working model, a stable delivery pipeline, scalable architecture aligned with Google’s guidelines, and automated end-2-end testing.
With 25 years of experience in the automotive industry in consulting and software development with hundreds of Apps and digital solutions built using agile frameworks, P3 is a leading Android Automotive OS partner.
