Who is OpenSynergy?

OpenSynergy provides embedded software products for the next generation of vehicles:

The automotive virtual platform COQOS Hypervisor SDK integrates a mix of real-time applications and open-source solutions on powerful domain controllers and supports a large bundle of features corresponding to the virtualization standard VIRTIO.  Google ensures that Android™ Automotive OS supporting VIRTIO is fully compatible with the COQOS Hypervisor SDK. This allows Android to run fully virtualized on any solution containing the newest VIRTIO device implementation, creating maximum flexibility: guest operating systems can be used and reused on different Systems on Chips.

The automotive leading Bluetooth® stack Blue SDK is one of OpenSynergy’s communications platforms. It is the reference Bluetooth® implementation for many OEMs around the world. OpenSynergy also provides engineering services to support the customization of its products.

Added value for the SPARQ platform and Android Automotive

OpenSynergy provides complimentary Automotive-Grade software components tailored for the AndroidTM Open Source Project (AOSP) to boost Android’s adoption in the automotive domain.

OpenSynergy plays the role of an automotive expert within the consortium by specifying automotive-specific VIRTIO devices. Android Automotive OS supports the open standard VIRTIO.

VIRTIO devices required for automotive use cases allow customers to fully leverage the AndroidTM Open Source Project (AOSP)

As Android Automotive OS can be deployed fully virtualized, customers enjoy

  • quick integration of Android onto their hardware
  • easy upgrade of Android versions
  • easier CTS certification by using a pre-CTS tested Android (AOSP).

Statement about the collaboration

P3’s SPARQ infotainment system for Android Automotive OS perfectly complements OpenSynergy’s automotive virtual platform COQOS Hypervisor SDK. By providing a VIRTIO interface, the virtual platform allows SPARQ OS for Android Automotive OS to run seamlessly within a virtual machine, as Android Automotive OS also supports the open standard VIRTIO. SPARQ has been used by Renault and other OEMs to realize compelling Android-based infotainment systems. We are pleased about the very constructive partnership that provides customers and drivers with a comfortable, safe, and sustainable driving experience.
